Industry Experts Conduct Design Trend Seminar
As an added attraction to Cebu X 2007, design trend seminars were conducted by respected international industry expert. The seminars were to open to Cebu X exhibitors, CFIF members companies, the academe and other interested individuals.
Susanne Lengyel, an industrial designer and president of the German Association of Industrial Designers (VDID), conducted the "product Competence through Design" seminar last February 28. Among the topics discussed by Ms. Lengyel were the creation of sustainable design – what is possible and why we have to think different. Ms. Lengyel also shared her expertise in industrial designing – from concepts to realization. The 73 seminars audience was a mix of students, designers, company top management and international buyers.

Cebu X goes abroad
Macef has changed its fundamental positioning in the market. After a gradual process of change over several shows, the transition from household goods to the entire universe of the home is now complete. So has the venue.
Macef 2006 opened in the new Milan Exhibition Centre in its fully operational state last January 20 to 23, 2006. This venture has turned Macef into a catalogue for the market that it represents, expressing the typically Italian ability to absorb suggestions and styles from other cultures into the Italian way of living, and with a marked emphasis on the quality of its ideas, on design and on new trends. One of the developments for Macef 2006 is DETTAGLI. A project being curated by world renowned Architect and Designer - Giulio Cappellini, established guidelines for a show that reflects the current needs of the market. Three elements shape our design soul
Dispersed in 7,107 islands, we speak 171 languages and dialects, each with its own word for "beauty" and "strength". Yet both ideals we communicate and understand as one.
