Visitors from around the globe flock to Cebu X
The Cebu International Furniture and Furnishings Exhibition (CEBU X) 2008 ended on a high note as visitors from all over the world flocked to Asia's leading design destination.
Buyer turnout exceeded expectations with over 1500 warm bodies coming in from 78 countries. Exhibitors remarked that there were more "serious buyers" this year, as sales jumped to USD 15.4 million (from last year's 15 million) for the 4-day event. Revenue per exhibitor increased an average of USD 181,176.00 per exhibitor versus last year's USD 150,000.00.
This year's show confirmed that the United States is still the major market for Cebu X (about 75% of our exports still go to the US), however the fair has also tapped new markets and has outlined a strategy to strengthen its presence in these markets. Among the major emerging markets identified are the Middle East, Europe and Russia.
The show is far from over as in the succeeding months the exhibitor's anticipation will not ebb while they hope for a better year.
With a good turnout in terms of buyer attendance and sales generated, Cebu X still remained the most effective venue for small and medium companies to bring their high-end, world-class furniture and furnishings to the world.
