Talks of having a furniture village in Cebu Philippines has been floating around for some time, but the idea never really took off to the drawing board, much less lay down the building blocks to realize the dream. Yet, every February, Cebu Philippines naturally transforms itself into one for a few days, when buyers from all over the world trot down to the Cebu International Convention Center in Waterfront Cebu City Hotel on 26 February – 01 March 2002 to visit the Cebu International Furniture & Furnishings Exhibition, (Cebu exhibition) and the city’s furniture showrooms opens its doors to trade visitors.

Although still a far cry from High Point, North Carolina in the US, wherein the city is transformed into one big fair every market week in April and October, as showrooms become natural extensions of the exhibition proper, Cebu, likewise transforms into a furniture village in February when the industry hosts the Cebu X, and buyers weave in and around of the various factories and showrooms in the city.
