HINABI is the working title of the project. It aims to revive the interest of the public and market in fiber craft, specifically on locally developed ones like abaca and raffia.

Since the project started, an interesting collection of fabric yardage was created. Other local fibers which before were not considered commercially viable were either dyed or bleached and combined to create interesting designs and textures.

So far, more than 80 different designs have been introduced with abaca and raffia as base material. Other indigenous fibers were utilized and combined with abaca and raffia to create and effect new texture combinations and patterns. The yardages produce offers an exciting new line of raw materials which may be used in the manufacture of different decorative items and furnishings.
